Dr. Snjolaug Olafsdottir joins Svarmi as Chief Product Officer & Client Relations Lead

Dr. Snjólaug Ólafsdóttir, an Environmental Engineer (PhD), entrepreneur, and former head of the Climate Change and Sustainability Services department at EY, Iceland, has diverse knowledge in sustainability strategies, target setting, and action plans. Her expertise covers a range of areas including climate change, human rights, sustainable procurement, circular economy, and biodiversity.

At Svarmi, Snjólaug will work closely with customers, most of whom are in the fields of energy production, energy transmission and distribution, beverage and food production, and other large infrastructure operators with a complex relationship with the natural environment. Her role is to help companies adapt to the changing requirements for sustainability information, in line with frameworks like the global Taskforce on Nature Related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) and the European Union's Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD).

Kolbeinn Hilmarsson, Chief Executive Officer of Svarmi: "We are really lucky to have Snjólaug join us. Her knowledge, experience, and attitude are a great asset to our team. Working with such a powerful entrepreneur with an excellent understanding of the working environment and transformation process in large and medium-sized companies is an honour."

Dr. Snjólaug Ólafsdóttir stated: "Biodiversity is a crucial issue for the future quality of life in all societies, and it's the sustainability issue that has received the least attention so far. With new legislation, the focus will increase, and so will the need to address the decline of natural resources we depend on. It's likely we'll see shortages of raw materials and disruptions in global supply chains. Therefore, it's important for companies to map their impact and dependencies to reduce operational risk. I'm very excited to work with Svarmi's customers to map their effects and help them build a strategy aligned with a sustainable future.”
